Price Override

Overview

Businesses in the food industry occasionally offer items outside of their current offering to customers for a price that is agreed upon by both parties, or at the discretion of management. A popular example would be a table service restaurant that will allow customers to order off the menu and ask for a single item. Usually, restaurants would add an “Open Item” button to their menu to account for such off-the-menu requests and manually input the price that they see fit at the time of sale.

Additionally, businesses may need to make price adjustments on the fly at the POS for either that single instance, the entire day, or a permanent change to that product’s price. This can be done from the iPad on Revel Systems POS as well.

Setup

For a product price to be subject to override, clients must enable the setting on the global brand-level and on the individual product-level as well.

To enable it on the brand-level, log into your management console and click on Settings > Settings (Advanced) > Advanced POS Settings > Enable Price Overrides.

After checking the box, scroll down and click Save.
